Importing layer attributes

All Landscape geography has the same fields available to it: Name, Description, Label, Status, and Type. It is not possible to add or import additional attributes. However, it is possible to import the geography name, description, label, status, and type fields, since these exist in Landscape.

The Landscape attributes are shown in the left pane.

To import data into the geography text fields (Name, Label, Status, Type or Description), give your shapefile attribute fields the names of 'NAME'; 'LABEL'; 'STATUS';'TYPE'; and / or 'DESC' respectively. Note that the field names must match exactly, although all lower-case is also supported. You do not have to include all attributes - you can choose which ones to include depending on the scenario.

This attribute table includes a field called 'name', so it will be imported into the geography name field in Landscape

The layer above represents a boundary layer that may be imported into custom layers for quick mapping of boundaries. But you might also use this process to import baseline points, site visit points, etc.
