How accurate is Landscape Mobile location data?
Important Note!
Landscape Mobile is intended as a navigational aid and data gathering tool. When determining whether an encroachment or violation exists, observations made with the maps on Landscape Mobile should always be confirmed with secondary evidence (physical boundary marker recovery or a professional survey).
The accuracy of the location data in Landscape Mobile depends on several factors:
- The device you're using.
- Ground conditions (canopy coverage, weather, and other factors which influence GPS performance).
- The precision of the underlying/reference map data (boundary data, point data, etc.).
This is a long way of saying Landscape Mobile is only as accurate as the data that is provided to it. It should not be used in place of a professional survey, but is appropriate for monitoring, baselines, and other basic map data gathering applications.
