Viewing Documents in the Mobile App
When you're on a site visit, you might find it useful to be able to reference important documentation about the property you're visiting: baseline reports, recorded easements, previous site visit reports, and more. The Landscape Mobile app makes it easy to bring these files into the field with you.
The first step in viewing files on the go is to make them available to the mobile app via the Landscape web app. Read more about that process here: Making Files Available to Landscape Mobile. Mobile files do not open natively in the mobile app; so, you will also need an app to view the files once they have been saved to your device. We recommend Adobe Acrobat Reader or Google Chrome, but you may use any other PDF viewer that you are familiar with, including the built-in 'Files' app on your device.
Next, make sure you've prepared the visit for offline use while you're still connected to WiFi (Step 1 of this article).
When preparing sites offline, linked files that are made available for offline use may generate a prompt for the mobile app user to sign into the service where the file is hosted, such as Google Drive, OneDrive or Box.com. If your site monitor does not have organizational login credentials for these integrated services, consider uploading the file to Landscape instead of linking to the file.
Now that your property and files are ready to be used offline, tap 'Site Details' to display basic site information, as well as the list of available documents, issues, and contacts.
In the 'Documents' section, tap the name of the file that you wish to view. You will be prompted to choose an app with which to open or save the file.
Android users: You can set a default app to open all PDF files on your device in Settings > Apps > [PDF viewer app] > Defaults.
